GJ Blackout invites you to join us in our commitment to provide excellence in opportunities for the growth and leadership training for the youth in Mesa County. With your generous support, we will complete our Blackout Sports Fieldhouse and provide the solution of space and resources Mesa County sports organizations are currently lacking. Through your generosity, GJ Blackout will continue to support our youth through our program, which strives to promote personal growth, athletic achievement, and community & team building.
Our $5 million capital campaign fundraising goal will help support the construction of our Blackout Sports Fieldhouse. We have already raised $3 million towards our goal! With the generosity of our community, we will be able to complete the project for this much-needed facility for the youth of Mesa County and surrounding communities.
GJ Blackout is a 501(c)3 entity. All donations are tax deductible.
Benefits the Blackout Sports Fieldhouse Will Bring to Our Community & to GJ Blackout
Increased Opportunity for Mesa County Youth
The Blackout Sports Fieldhouse will provide the space and resources needed to allow all local youth sports organizations and clubs required to execute their operational activities, including practice, gym resources, tournament hosting, and a facility where they can host home games. Having this facility resource will naturally raise our local youth athlete’s skill levels, making them more competitive on state and national levels – in turn, this will increase their exposure to prospective college programs when they endeavor to continue competing at higher levels.
Our fieldhouse will provide the youth in our community with resources, which are not yet available, to stay active and healthy. Our facility will provide organizational support, which will help them in their competitive endeavors by increasing opportunities to participate in sports leagues and tournaments. This will allow our youth to prepare more and bring a more competitive edge when their teams compete with larger organizations such as those in Salt Lake City and Denver.
Simple Solution for Youth Involved with GJ Blackout Youth Basketball Club
Our fieldhouse will be a permanent solution to our organization’s most significant ongoing challenge – securing gym time. While Mesa County Valley School District 51 has been generous with us over the years, it is difficult to obtain the availability of gym time due to the mass number of school-sanctioned activities. When our youth basketball club has its future fieldhouse, gym time will be guaranteed and secured permanently.
The fieldhouse will also allow us the much-needed room for expansion of our programs which will accommodate the increased interest of youth participation in our club. We are currently limited on accepting new participants primarily due to the lack of available gym time.
The GJ Blackout facility will allow us to host tournaments throughout the year for our own youth basketball club and for many clubs in Mesa County and our neighboring communities. This will increase our availability and attraction to participation in our tournaments from our larger city neighbors.
Economic Growth Opportunity for Mesa County
Our new facility will create revenue opportunities for local businesses by hosting games and tournaments. This will bring visitors to Mesa County who will need food, lodging, shopping, and fuel – not to mention the exposure to our beautiful community!
